Welcome to the International Shuriway Karate & Kobudo Society (国際首里道唐手と古武道会) website.

Dedicated to upholding the rich heritage and unique principles of Ryukyu karate. Our association name, "International Shuriway Karate & Kobudo Society," reflecting our commitment to passing down the knowledge and skills of the Ryukyu martial arts through the generations.

With many friends from around the world, who have become despondent with the politics, the high cost of memebership and grading fees of the groups they belonged to, we decided to form a martial arts group based on traditional values.

The International Shuriway Karate & Kobudo Society is a research-driven, martial arts association dedicated to the preservation and evolution of Okinawan fighting arts. We welcome practitioners of all styles of the Ryukyu arts who share our commitment to understanding and reviving the original intent, aims, and goals envisioned by the pioneers of pre-modern Okinawan martial arts.

Our aim is to help preserve and promote these traditional roots, with the cultural heritage of the classical karate and kobudo of Okinawa, to unite traditional and classical martial artists and help to build new friendships.
